Do you mean #5 road one?  The one in Steveston hwy is 觀音寺 I think.  It's the one you have to "buy" the thing; the one on #5 was by donation.

I usually go to the one on Steveston. And I never have to buy anything. I go there, light the "hung" and walk around. Then donate a few bucks if I like (or more depending) and no one there talk to me...
The kitchen is run by Volunteers and they are really nice. Some times they are low on staff and they keep saying sorry when the things come late.
I never feel pressured or pushy there.

Yes, on Steveston個間.
Well...to be fair, only that 解籤佬 is pushy. The rest doesn't ask me for $.

That garden is pretty and does give me peaceful feeling...

In my opinion, if I visit a temple (just like a visitor), 入屋叫人，入廟拜神 = a form of polite(阿媽教嘅). Doesn't mean I believe in Buddhism or not...

I think 上頭注香 is a ... "tao" thing as well... like at wong tai sin....
I never go when it's so crowded.
