Actually, i think everywhere has losers. HK has HK losers. US has US losers. Canada has Canadian Losers. Losers everywhere.
But, just like old Chinese motto.. The one who says others are fools is a fool.
so, the same for the one who says others are losers is a loser.
I don't know about others.. But I stay here because in my industry, it is way better than in HK in terms of salary & opportunities.
I believe so many ppl smarter than me stay in Vancouver. may be I m the stupidest dumbass but I make my living and enjoy my life (including career). No complain.
Somehow it is your mind-set, if you don't like your life in a city, and cannot find anything good of the city. You will still complain the same **** even moving to another city. No difference. it is your mind. You own your life, your happiness, not letting the place control you.
I am just trying to say 100k is not a lot of $ jeh. Don't understand why people have to be so awe-strucked about a lot of people claiming that they making 100k in the survey. Given a family of 4, people that make 100k still have to struggle (albeit struggle less) to pay bills and feed kids ba.
As an example, a lot of younger Asian immigrants are probably used to parents buying a car, paying their tuition, paying air fare for their annual trip to HK, etc... and 100k/yr won't even allow them to do the same thing for their kids. I'm not saying that this lifestyle is the norm, is considered luxurious or shall be considered a basic minimum, etc etc. I am just saying 100k is not a lot of money so maybe people, like Toppy, shouldn't fuss about it so much. A lot of people makes well above 100k, and really they are just regular people that do regular things and don't drive Ferrari's or anything.

Yeah, that's why I do think 100K annual income (before tax) is not A LOT. I think we had similar discussion in another thread. IMO I would say 200K annual income before tax is quite good. That's about 10K net income per month? I think that would be quite good.
where do you come up with 99% the stats? See you mad it up. I have to agree your theory is partially true as long as you do not theorize and generalize the public.
There are still a lot of people staying here and are happy here.
And I want to re-state that THE FACT THAT MANY HK PEOPLE I KNOW, WHO ONCE LIVED IN VANCOUVER, WENT BACK AND CAME BACK TO VANCOUVER TOO.
So do not generalize the public if you are the only one went back to HK.
If I was toppy, I can say
