they can live together in ODD numbers. I had 3 hamsters at the same time as well. If there's only TWO left, yes, they will fight to the end. If there are THREE, they can live together.

In fact you can just google on "teddy bear hamster care" and websites would tell you NOT to house them together at all. Depends on how responsible a pet owner you want to be (ie. how much chance you want to take on the well being and life of your pet).
if you really care so much about the hamsters, i would suggest you to contact local small animal rescues and see if they can take the hamsters in... that is, if you are truly asking for money just because you care about them (in that case you wont care if there is money involved when they go to good hands)
