born in where is not a problem, the main issue is 眼界﹐you got it? even somebody born in a little village of Africa can have 眼界, if you show to others that you are shocked by an elevator only shows people how 沒有眼界 you are!!!

sigh... seriously, Canada's technology in general is behind from Hong Kong, and some cities in China. But Canada's selling point should be the best place to live in the world, with good social benefits.
So it is good to know the different, but really hard to compare and say whether Canada is better/Hong Kong is better/China is better~~~ It really depends on what you want in the first place
And I agree with Littleprince about "暗啞底咪算囉"
If I go back to Hong Kong/China now I'll be a 鄉下人 too....

Hmm... being proud of oneself and one's origin is nice.... but when it went overboard, that's arrogance.

I am just amazed at the speed where the conclusion was reached that the Canadian reporter was a 井中之蛙. I'd personally give the benefit of doubt to the Canadian reporter, and think that he/she was just being 客氣. I find the elevator in the CN tower to be very fast and quiet too, despite being a honger. In fact, I find infrastructure in China to be more amazing than a lot of places in HK. Newly built stuff will always be better, I won't be surprised if the Canadian reporter just happened to visit a newly implemented/renovated elevator in HK. North American infrastructure have always been much older, just beacuse it have been developed much earlier. If it works, why fix it? In comparison, China's infrastructure is very new. Am I supposed to be called a 井中之蛙 just because I find the new train/building/bridge/etc in China to be awesome?

HK infrastructures have always been world class, I'm not denying that. But attacking someone whose might just have been humble, sterotyping Canadians in general, and in the process to self inflate one's ego, is quite arrogant. This is not the first time I've read articles from Singtao to be self inflating and putting down other nationalities, especially local Canadians. I simply find it disgusting and disappointing. As Chinese, I don't know where our virtue of humbleness have went after all these years of rapid ascension in the world stage (can't deny that I also am an offender sometimes). However as a majorly published newspaper, it's just unacceptable. I guess we have learned nothing about multi-culturalism after all these years in Canada, and that's just sad.

It's not a technology problem. It's a money problem. Go to Shangri-la in downtown. I'm sure the elevator is gonna be nice and quiet and fast. Canada is never featured as a place where there's a lot of private business capital pouring in for capital investment projects like building tall buildings with fancy elevators.

Regardless, I don't see how that makes Canadians (whom are all immigrants anyways, just like u and I), "好天真好傻的﹐特別是白人", or "井底之蛙". I've seen countless amazingly smart um.... non-Chinese Canadians. Besides, when they haven't seen something u've taken for granted for years, you consider them as "井底之蛙". Then what should they call you when you haven't seen something that they've taken for granted for a long time?

This Singtao article didn't demonstrate anything in regards to '見識' to me. Rather, it demonstrated to me that there are many Chinese out there that have became amazingly arrogant over the years of rapid development that's taking place in China.

Finally... if a lot of caucassian is being discriminatory, it doesn't make it right to do the same back to them. It just makes one as disgusting as the discriminatory arrogant individual that is being despised of in the first place... kinda like Mr. T...
