Just tried the lunch combo there today, for $8.50 you get a mini udon (with seaweed and inari), and rice, and miso chicken, 2 pieces of takoyaki, and 3 small side dishes (one of them is tako wasabi).  
That taste is pretty good, except we had to wait for quite a long while and the chicken is cold by the time it reach us, but I think it's a good deal.  
Definitely will go back again to try something else.

I went there for lunch today as well! We shared 1 Kaisen Don, 1 Ika Uni Don, 1 Salmon Toro Tai Ryou Mori, 1 Ebi Tempura with OnTama Bukkake Udon and 1 Negi Ponzu Tako Yaki.
All pretty good. 4 of us each paid $15 including tax. All the sashimi are fresh. Rice is a bit on the hot side. (I think luk warm is better)

Well, all the servers and chefs look Japanese.

But I think the Gyoza King Group (Gyoza King, Chicco, G-Men, Gyo-O, Nan Chuu Japanese Izakaya) is partly owned by Chinese. (I am not 100% sure tho)

How's the ika uni don? I went there yesterday lunch time too and had their lunch special which is a pretty good with that price. I so want to try the ika uni don next time! or Uni hotate don

It's pretty good. The ika was sweet and mouth feel is clean (not slimy). The uni was not bad, fresh and no unpleasant fishy taste.
But the regular size bowl is a bit small (smaller than the regular Kaisen Don) and only had 3 pieces of ika and 4 pieces of uni.
But if I had it all to myself, it's enough food for lunch. And for only $10.xx, I think the size is OK.
