Sometime it's the traffic light system.  In Taiwan or Malaysia it's green light with a number counting down so we know exactly if we can make it or not.  Sometimes I felt like the green light stays too long when the pedestrian light already turned red and sometimes I felt like it turns too soon.

For those who don't know, red light camera will take 2 pictures. First picture will show your car at the stop (white) line while the light is red. Second picture will show your car in the intersection while the light is red.

In another word, you will not get a ticket if you car is over the stop line when the light turns red.

Therefore, if you are left turning and tailgating, as long as your car is past the white line, you can go as you please during red. Same applies to straight going cars, just make sure you are past the white line when the light turns red (floor it hard).

Yes.  I had a ticket for jumping the amber light. :-(  By the book, amber also means stop.

Your red light ticket will also display the speed at the time of your violation.  Some judges will show no sympathy if they notice your speed is high, meaning that you had no intention to stop.
