I suggest you to buy a camera. Go outside and take pictures, read more books to upgrade your knowledge, post your artwork in different forums. Listen to others, learn from others, expand your network to other sports/arts like dancing, painting, musics.....etc.
Are you currently employed? What do you do on your days off? Hobbies/interests? It takes time/years to make yourself like a pro. After you achieve that stage, your life should be pretty colorful!

how about we try thinking from a different angle
have you thought about if there's anything wrong/different about yourself to make you hard to keep friends?
maybe you are too quiet? maybe you are very passive?

any hobbies you have? you can try expand your friend circle from there~
I don't know...I don't think I'm a horrible friend or a person thats hard to get along..maybe i'm too quiet to people that i don't really have commons with...i can find and keep friends...just that I have trouble finding a true friend..
Sigh...I have hobbies and interest but no time to get to...
