And you claim you support the freedom of speech? I thought Canada is a place where people accept other people's viewpoint. I am not even talking politics here. Most of my posts are about science, economics development, sports, culture etc. When it comes to Diaoyu islands, are you prepared to concede to the enemies?
The funny thing is, it seems people can be one-sided negative about China/Hong Kong/anything Chinese, while talking positive things about China/Hong Kong/anything Chinese is not allowed. This "requirement" is unheard of anywhere else. Afterall, no one else here will post anything positive about China/Hong Kong/anything Chinese anyway.
I understand that it is human nature that people like to hear what they want to hear. If you hate your own Chinese culture/HK/China, you are going to hate it, no matter what. But at least you need to respect other's viewpoint.
Personally, I don't think supporting ones own culture and ethnicity is wrong. Supporting ones own culture and ethnicity does not mean supporting a political party.
I made this clear many times before, but some people still don't get it, and the name calling still persist. And I thought abusive name calling was not allowed here long ago.
Personally, I don't think immigrants to Canada have to hate their own country of origin. People come to Canada because they think Canada is a better place, but that does not mean they have to hate their own culture or ethnic origin. That would be too much self-hate. |
