However there are some ugly adults in this world, and I don't know what their hearts are like.

True, this only means there are ugly adults that have become so due to their circumstances, and this does not prove if there are ugly kids--which still could exist.
As seen above, there is such a thing as ugliness and there are various degrees of it as well, but this is the result of their actions and circumstance.
楊沛宜 will now be growing up listening to adults, telling her that her glory was stolen and that she was not pretty enough. How would this change her thinking, and would she become truly ugly with acts of self-destruction? If her parents are sane, I hope that she would be raised according to her talents and let her carry on as a person of talents.
Personally I find it hard to blame the government for creating this mess, because it is totally expected of them to create false images. Also, I don't blame society for designating people as pretty or ugly, as it is human nature to favor better appearances. The fact that there is an excess of cosmetic industries proves that people are vain, and the entertainment world just compounds the mentally of how good looking people should look like. If you were not given the back story and were told to judge which of the two girls are better looking, the result and your stance on this issue would be quite different no doubt.
Hopefully people around her will explain to her how the world is and help her accept rejection.
And if the government is as smart as I think it is, she will have her own album in a year or so. |
