Actually it's a common problem for GPS that they don't work properly around 高樓大廈.
I was STUCK in downtown NYC at night with the stupid GPS. I drove around and around and all those taxi drivers keep honking... It took me > 1 hr to find my way back to the hwy out of NYC. I was hungry, tired and scared. It was a true nightmare.....

that prob happened. I didn't plan to drive to NYC. I was going take the train and I had no driving map. Only map I had was those from BCAA tour booklet.
Anyway, that's the end of driving in NYC. The next day I took the train and it was much easier.
It is a lot cheaper for GPS. I have a Nuvi 360 for a couple years. So far so good. I used it for West Coast. I don't have experience as other LYKs have in the cities. Some part of the map may be outdated, but it you can manage to get in and out without too much a problem. I think 360 is outdated, you can get 760, 780 instead.
