how about the oyster shells?

Once I went to a Lofan seafood buffet, just to find out they stuffed the bottled
oysters into the recycled oyster shells, why? the oysters were oversized in proportion to the shells, and the taste is totally off.
Assorted sushi is good, but forget the boat or any wooden vessels, THEY DO NOT GO INTO DISHWASHER the ceramic engineers would just give them a rinse then put aside to dry.

This is what I suspected for a long time. Since these sashimi or sushi do not have a lot of grease, they do not need to use detergent to wash these wooden dishes. In Japan they do this as well. So it is very dirty to eat Japanese food, since the raw fish are not cooked and the dishes are not washed.
You better stick with ramen or stir fried soba that would put grease on the plate or bowl.
