the difference between a master and an amateur is the position of the wings of the dragonfly.

a master inspires students to follow..
an amateur may or may not inspire other people

I've been playing around with photo stitching software recently, and it occurred to me that I could stitch together a full group photo from Hong Kong BarCamp 2008.

that is the reason why we cannot call someone a photography master, until  we have looked at
his photostream, then we can see if there is any  path or identity he is trying to follow, in the many
photos he has taken.

we cannot tell whether  someone is a master or not by just looking at one photo

one artistically superior, technically perfect photo does not make a master

we must look at someone's whole series of photos

the whole series of photos  tells us what the photographer is. an amateur or a master

one's series of photos, is like the wing of a dragonfly, when all the photos are not the same,
when they vary , then photo series can fly, towards the goal of the photographer

some people's photo series consists of photos of all the same thing, year after year after year
then photography is not going anywhere

the photography then does not fly like an eagle,  he stays on the ground like a chicken
may be once in a while he lays an egg, but the eggs are all the same, as his photos are all the same

maanmo , my self,  wants to practice the art of photography,
my series of photos are displayed in a continuous thread,  in this forum " the photo droppings thread "
maanmo tries to fly with his photos, that means the photos must vary, like the wings of a dragon fly

but so far maanmo is still on the ground . just like a chicken.  maanmo 's photo thread has
been inactive for a long time.  maanmo is like a chicken that has not laid any eggs

Let take a break from digital to negative. I tried 2 rolls 135 negative with my 50mm and it is a good experience. I enjoy the shooting and I love the result. I will upload some more soon.

This one is chose from my second roll; took at Asakusa. I know the composition is not good enough but I love the mood. And I was shocked by the smooth skin tone and color..

now I know why people love film

maanmo says.. i dont care about film or digital.. all i know is these photos are so lovely

The frist time i took sunset photo in HK

maanmo is again moved to say.. 江山依舊在。。己度夕陽紅
