I felt lazy to dress up or head DT. So I cancelled my Fri for 2 reservation at Yew and made one at Caver (in Richmond).
I actually didn't go DOV last year.
previous years experience:
C restaurant: bad (btw their chef de cuisine, Quang Dang, just left in March to Diva)
Chambar: Great! But we are going there on regular price and it's not super expensive either
Parkside: love it! But it's now l'altro buca and it's not the same...
Beyond: bad
Al Porto: bad
Griffins: not so great. Better to go with entertainment book coupon and just order prime rib. (dessert buffet is just so-so. no fancy dessert)
Nu: bad...
Tea House at Stanley park: surprising good tho not fine dine style. (we used a gift cert there and they had extra menu items that were not listed at the DOV site)
Il Giardino di Umberto: pretty good but not a wah. I like their court yard.
Tried West tonight....feedback.. OVERALL RATING: POOR
FOOD: soso....worst than Carver....
NOISE: LOUD~
DRINK: the COKE tastes good.. =__= but $3.5 each no refill
I won't go back again lor.. the menu doesnt worth the price of $38. My hubby didnt even try the dine out menu..coz he doesn't like it.. He ordered the regular price striploin...cost $45.. small and taste soso (worst than Keg if we have to describe it) So noisy tonight too..just like market...sigh...One word = disappointed
