My nephew is attending montessori school in richmond.
He's been there for 2 years already.
The first few weeks, he cries and not wanting to go to school... but after a while  he got used to the environment and he loves it.
I think he learned a lot from montessori.  The teachers taught them french..(simple phrases) and songs and naming continents etc...
Overall, i think montessori schools are great

Does anyone have any experience with the preschools in the community centres?  I also like to hear comments (good/bad) about montessori preschools in Richmond.

Some funny replies ( true story from me / my wife ) from daycare around:

• Waiting List?  you're about the 100th on the list; class size is 25;
  
• Hmm... our list hardly move -- the 1st one on the list registered 8 years ago ( serious )
  
• Yes... our registration starts next Tuesday.  Come around 5 am to line up -- but still no guarantee.
  
• We're not discrimination, but boys are welcomed, girls got only 2 vacancies left;
  
• We welcome all kids, but first of all do you mind if you tell me the parents' occupation?

Can't say names, but just a rough area you can guess:

1. actually more than one give us that reply;
2. Oak 49th ( they said it's more a place for serving the college staff nearby.. so you know which );
3. near UBC;
4. again UBC;
5. Kitsilano area;

Yes.. please PM me.  My wife called 30+ daycare/preschool in last 3 days.  Desperate house-wife.

Full day daycare / pre-school + afterschool care will be what we need.
