please point me to the proper law statement to support your point. it would be cool to just get stand-by to kill criminals when you know they are going to commit crime.

Look up clause 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights. Then google "right of self defence".

Do we understand there is a difference between “attempt to assault” and “assault committed”, as well as “attempt to murder” and “murder committed”? The sentence was based on the crime committed. Do we have to teach you from ABC?
