It took me awhile to get familiar with Changjie method. Although I use mostly Simplified Changjie, I don't do enough Chinese typing daily to warrant using (full) Changjie all the time. Still I don't agree with all the rules for all the characters, particularly 麗 (一一月月心); the way that character split is done by the two 一一 and not isolating the "deer" part of the character as the bottom. If there's one character I want to change the coding on, 麗 is the one.
A couple of hints in Windows XP:
- The standard Changjie method (grey square) allows using * to substitute in between characters, effectively reducing it Simplified Changjie. Therefore I don't use "Quick", I leave it at Changjie and do the "*" thing.
- Right click on the bottom square "A/半" -> 內容, if you select Changjie it will show you the complete Changjie code to complete the word; this helps with the learning
- The New Changjie method (green square) allows "*" for all in-between characters, so will help you narrow down your choices compared to Simplified Changjie. However, unlike the standard Changjie, the New Changjie does not have the follow-up character function.
One thing I learn in practice...
肺 (lungs) is not "moon" (月) + "city" (市)[ylb]. This is because the way you write "city" is dot first, then cross, finally moon hat and straight down. The right part of lungs is rather written as straight across, then moon hat, and finally straight from the top going down in one stroke. Therefore lungs is "bjb", not "bylb". |
