River will deposit sediments and rocks to the end of the delta stream which is now Richmond but it takes years or decades to stabilize the foundation. That's why center of Richmond is safe with a lot of developments whereas places near the water are still soft, relatively.

Look around ...

Northbound garden city road near that area - the right side of the road significantly sank as you can experience (way over developments in a short period of time)

Sounds like I shouldn't even consider Richmond... anyone has comments about South Survey's new houses? We are looking at those at the same time, but probably we will go for those ones near False Creek at the end, can't decide yet as my parents don't have good impression about downtown or False Creek, at first they like Richmond because easier to get food, but after all your comments about the soft soil I think we should consider it, anyone second this?

I second that and that's why I live at Burnaby.  But I would still pick Richmond over Surrey.

I like living in false creek. very convinent in getting around, especially w/ the canada line.

False Creek and Burnaby is good.

Burnaby is always known for one of the best run municipalities in Canada - go do a research on it. Good area planning, good council with minimal property tax increase each year (compared to vancouver ) and the best thing is that Burnaby is located at the center of everywhere ...

dude learn to read.
He's implying that houses in the west side are comparable in prices to these condos, which means these condos are over priced. I agree with him as well.
