Which era are you talking about? The few years before 1997? The British did not give citizenship to the Hong Kong, the way Portuguese gave to the Macau people. Most people stayed Macau because it is a nice place.
Hong Kong is a nice plce, that is why most people stayed in HK and many people went back to HK.

Like you said, it was in the 1960's and 1970's. That means, at least after that time period, Hong Kong students needed to pay for studying in the UK.

Again, the British did not give citizenship to Hong Kong people, the way Portuguese gave to the Macau people.

除左六四發生之後果幾日, 小弟唔覺得會有5百萬人想移民去英國law. (5百萬係5m, 而500m 係5億了)

1962年開始﹐香港人已經無居英權。
人地直布羅陀又係英國殖民地﹐但人地一早就有普選﹐個個都係英國公民﹐仲有權選英國議員添。
香港人或前香港人﹐唔好再發夢啦﹐香港之於英國﹐只係搖錢樹+對付中國既棋子﹐絕無其他。
