I think the point Hyde is making is she (or he, really dunno) is she can afford the gasoline, the parking, & of course the timing to look for parking (or hire sb to valet parking or get a personal driver).... just to show off jar...
no offense, but even the richest person in the world, Warren Buffett (that crazy richest guy), will still take buses / public transit & live in the houses he bought like 50 years ago when he's a poor bum... it's a personal choice to take public transit for many reason. Back in the day when the gas was extremely cheap & cars were affordable, still many chose to take transit for social reason (to flirt or to be flirted??? haha..), or what-so-ever.
I don't see a problem taking public transit, & really don't think having 搭乘 public transit 的 etiquette is anything wrong.
Aiya, at least Hyde is right that most people in Japan is really polite & considereated when they're taking subway & buses. I think we should learn from those Japanese in this area.
wonder should we name-call those Japanese "poor bums"?
i've been strictly targeting the crimetrain...err skytrain as the transportation for bums. what do you expect when you are riding with the lowest class citizen in the city?? you are lucky you didnt get robbed
the demographics is a huge difference for the people that take public transit in Vancouver compare to metropolis cities like HK, Tokyo, NYC....
the biggest advantage of mass transit rail is to reduce the time of travel compare to using a car. this does not happen in vancouver, traffic is minimal compare to those places and parking is widely available anywhere.
