Yea.. it's fairly heavy, but not much more than a 300 f/2.8 IS from Canon.  The IS II is ligher.. but then you are spending over $7K US

Went to Safeco Field today (It's free as it's part of a company event).

Honestly, I am not a sport fans, but fig. At the very least, they allow some non-professional camera being used.

I did this thing call Long Shot 2012:  I actually had very little time, since it started on a Friday at 6pm for 24hrs.  That's Friday work day, and I was in Vancouver on Sat.  However, as a surprise, I was able to take couple decent photos @ Aberdeen Centre.
LONG SHOT is an event that celebrates photography, creativity, and our greater community, while raising funds for education and outreach programs at Photo Center NW. It is a fun, one day event where photographers hit the streets to capture a theme, community, or subject of their choice. Any image taken between June 1-2, 2012 is eligible for exhibition, and at least one image from each participant will be featured in the LONG SHOT exhibition at Photo Center NW on July 28, 2012. The event is open to everyone, using any camera, anywhere.

Sometimes it's just the subject. If you like the subject, you like the photos. It's not necessarily about the technique or approach.
