btw my food court restaurant is in Richmond Public Market, it's different restaurant than the one OP mentioned.  

The cook is coming back but in 3-4 months so I just hope people will start to come  ...

Hmm..... Sounds like you're a honest and sincere shop owner. OK, I'll go to try your stuff one day! Hehe....

I am new to restaurant business and I go by the rule: The quality has to be good enough for at least for us to eat.  I always bring the food for my lunch.

When you go late evening, we do not cook any more dishes because we do not put cook food overnight thus it looks pretty empty and not very attractive at all....

I just want everyone to be able to eat this cook's food.  Good or bad, at least you know how real Penang food tastes like.  Personally I think his food is good enough to open his own restaurant (not food court one) which he plans to.  

Someone even came from Alberta to eat his food every month.

I can't eat spicy food now... but should be ok in a few months.

To myversa:

Sorry to OT here, but I would like to know. Is your current chief not the "good" one, and the "good" one you mentioned will be coming back in a few months time? And therefore the taste of food would be even better after he comes back later? But then you mentioned "he" is planning to open his own restaurant. Which one did you mean, the current one or the coming back one?

My current chief is the Malaysian one.  He is planning to go back to Malaysian in end of March and come back in few month.  When he comes back, we may close down the food court restaurant and he may open his own restaurant.  

That's the only chief we have at the moment.  I do not really care about intern chief.

To tell if some Malaysian restaurant is operated by Malaysian Chinese, just simply ask for "Sambal" sauce, which is their "hot" sauce.  That's what I always do when I go into any Malaysian restaurant.  I can name a few restaurant the waitress did not even know what sambal sauce is...

We have the good Sambal sauce too.

I just remember that the Malaysian restaurant in Continental Plaza (richmond) is not bad too.

sooo 無聊, hate all these harsh mouth bashing of others.  口是你既,你說什么都可以.  I don't really care.  我只是講我自己覺得既感覺。

Katamari, 你不再去吃都唔管我事啦 , 好像個個都覺得我有份 gum, just doesn't make sense to me at all.

好無奈...
