Where is the best place to learn how to make pastry and dessert?

Can anyone please give me some sugguestion?  I am not looking for a deploma to become a pastry chef just wanted to learn how to make a few desserts for fun.

if ur not looking to be in a profession of....
i guess u can look through the vancouver school board's event papers. they do have a few classes teaching u how to make desserts. but of course, those are not as....."good" as learning from an actual diploma course. but if you are just doing it for fun. It is okay.

Vancouver school board is a good place to get you to know some basic skills and knowledge. Then you can move on to other more professional classes else where.

You can take courses from Pacific Institute of Culinary if you can affort the price (http://www.picachef.com/Private_Classes.html).

One of my friends went to France for pastry training. Yes, it demands big bucks in order to do that.
