Very contemporary design, it's not traditional lor...so maybe not easy to "love at first sight".
Btw, I found the Royal Canadian Mint often has "better" design.

The "landscape-inspried curvatures" make the medal look like it is a scrap piece of deformed metal that was involved with some sort of serious car or melt-down accident, and is completely twisted out of shape.

The Torino medals and the Beijing medals were really nice. But this one... Ugh!
