is marriage counselling under msp? or it has to be referred by a family doctor or social work to get cover? or it is under ministry of children and family development anyone knows anything about it? thanks.
It's not covered by MSP at all, nor is it offered by the Ministry of Child and Family Development. Marriage counselling is usually offered by therapists in private practice, by certain community organizations (it's not free and you still need to pay out of pocket), or by religious organizations (for pre-marital planning for example). If you have extended health coverage offered by your workplace, you should check with the insurance company to see how you can get coverage from them (but usually they will only cover a number of sessions).
Here, they offered free consulting service regarding relationship or such (I do not know if they still have it for free but you can phone and find out). My wife and I went there couple of time regarding family issue and they helped a lot. They do have people speaking Chinese too. Actually in my case, the situation is complicated too so it's not really "simple".
