[西餐] Irish Heather - Long Table Series

I went to 2 of the Irish Heather - Long Table Series. For more information about LTS, please see the blog from Irish Heather:
http://ltsmenu.blogspot.com/
Basically there is a set menu for each night and 1 seating at 6:30 (weekdays) or 7:30 pm (sundays).
The set consist of 1 main and 1 beer pairing.
Everyone will be sharing 1 long table at a separate section of the regular customers of the restaurant.

Here are some pictures for Day 1
Menu: $12 plus tax
Roast Duck Leg With Colcannon Potatoes, Mushroom And Foie Gras Jus
+ Pint Of Guinness.
We order a hazelnut creme brulee for dessert to share.

Day 2 I went with a group of friends. It's more fun that way I think. Too bad, that was the chef's wife's birthday. So he didn't get to stay and chat with us a bit.
Menu: $15 + tax
Roast Suckling Pig With Apple-Rosemary Sauce, Braised Cabbage & Mashed Potatoes
+ Orchard Hill Apple Cider

We ordered London Fog Creme Brulee (IMO better than the hazelnut one) and apple pie to share.

No, you have to go to the blog, find the day with the menu you want, and email them to get reservation.
In fact, most of the nights are fully book about 1 month ahead.
But if you are going alone, they usually have some cancellation and the chance of calling them and getting a seat that day is good.
You have to be there before 6:30 and waited in a different room (most ppl order some drinks and chat there). Then the server will walk you to the Long table once dinner is ready. There is a short talk about the food and the beer to be served that night.
And the chef usually would be there to chat a bit.

You sure can go by yourself and chatting to ppl sitting next to you is expected. I had some fun conversation with the family sitting next to mine on our first visit.
But on the 2nd one, since we are such a big group already , I didn't' have a chance to socialize with ppl around.

oh btw, the cost ($12 or $15) doesn't include tip, nor tax nor the dessert.
So dinner for 2 came to about $38 (2 meals + 1 dessert) for 2 on day 1 and $55 (2 meals + 2 desserts) on day 2

Yes pretty good price. But don't expect fine dine quality food. It's pub and comfort food instead. And a fun thing to do with friends! We had such great time chatting, eating and hang out after meal
o btw. you can ask for a bottle of coke instead of the beer if you are not a beer drinker.

Day 1, I saw a young chinese couple who left their food and beer almost untouched.. may be they should've asked for coke instead of beer if they don't drink porter.
