Hmm... Seems like most of their programs are not in HD though...

Omni news look Much better in this new HD channel.

Although it is still a SD program, Shaw doesn't compress it as much as the SD channels.

I think what really makes a good news program (regardless of the language) is that information has be be accurate, unbiased, and up-to-date, while the anchor should give a sense of confidence and an authoritative demeanor.  And of course, everything will be much better when it's in HD.  Almost all of the above qualities are absent from the "other" channel, which is really disappointing.
