How much should I expect for a trip to HK (1.5 weeks) and Taiwan (0.5 week)? Total 2 weeks. My budget excludes airfare from YVR to HKG, and excludes accommodation in HK. I'm thinking about joining a tour (air + hotel, 4 nights approx) from HKG to TPE. I heard it's much cheaper to book in HK. True?

I've never been those places so I have no idea. I've been looking at airfares from the websites and Flight Centre. Or should I check out Chinese travel agencies? Which one? I only know S??kway.

You may want to check out www.wingontravel.com. I have joined tour from this travel agency in Hong Kong. (going to Japan). I'm very satisfied with it la.

As for the expense...hard to say wor...because you can spend huge on shopping...I already exchanged $2000Cdn for my 2-week HK trip (but I don't intend to join any tour).

You should check out Taiwanese travel agencies.
My friend bought a  順道遊 kind of package which means going to Hong Kong and 順道遊Taiwan. It turns out very affordable.
