租務糾紛,個業主係後面伏擊我,差佬叫我放過個業主.

上個月尾,業主話比我Roommate知佢地要拆屋再起,咁我地叫佢簽租務局發的兩個月通知,佢要我地六月前搬!根據租務條例,如果佢要我地搬走,要補番一個月租金比我地,佢唔肯不特止仲要我地交五月既租.佢恐嚇我地,如果我地唔交租就打我地.仲話自己大把律師,佢唔驚差佬,並且多次未經我們批准,私自用鎖匙開門進來.咁我迷唯有搬啦.佢話唔比租就唔比搬,咁我迷趁佢地訓緊覺個陣時搬啦.搬到第三日比佢發現左,知佢實唔比我搬野,咁我迷報警,我同911個邊講野個陣佢係後面打我個頭,個陣又比佢拉落地.其中一個警察比我搬少少野我就走左但無起訴佢.第二日我去家庭醫生到驗傷,左腳瘀左兩達.之後差佬放假放到17號先返工,我話要告佢.佢竟然叫我算數,話睇落我乜事都無.我覺得好無奈.溫哥華仲有無天理?如果下次邊個又租到佢個度我唔擔保佢打第個.即係如果下次任何溫哥華既居民如果未比人打死或者唔係好傷大家都應該放過打人那位人士.

I'd recommend you talking this over with your lawyer. The initial consultation is usually free and the lawer will advise you what his opinions and what the likely outcomes are. My guess is, you can sue for 2 things -- the return of a month's worth of rent, and secondly for bodily harm and emotional injuries. The lawyer will likely send your landlord a letter warning him of the consequences if he doesn't provide you with the month's worth of rent. I dunno if that lawyer letter has the power to ask him to reimburse you for your bodily injuries though. Then again, the letter alone would likely cost upwards of $400, and should you decide to process to the full legal process, it will cost a lot more. But should you decide that vindication is more important than money, then you should go ahead with the legal process route.

It would help tremendously if you have actually signed a rental contract with your landlord. And the cop is likely suggesting you to let the bastard go because he knows of the financial costs that would be involved.

Unfortunately, a lot of times seeking justice is a rich man's game...
