急~~~~ Where should I rent a car locally to Banff

Hello to all

I am planning to drive from Vancouver to Banff between Aug 4th to 8th, 2010. I don't want to drive my own car. I am planning to rent a 3000 cc car to drive 4 adults. May I know which car rental company offers the best deal for me.

Please kindly advise ASAP.

Many thanks in advance.

you mean to and back from Banff right? Not one way rental?

I did mine via priceline.com BUT since you will be driving it out of province , it may not be the best place for your rental.

Call different car rental company here and ask for qoutes. Remeber to check out of province, unlimited milage and multiple driver cost. Because those add up. Also check for insurance.
Car rental prices are like seafood price... it's hard to know exactly.

Other than priceline, you can try HotWire, Hotwire's Hot Rate is one time offer, so it is subject to change. I did my last car rental and hotel reservation from Priceline.

most of the priceline rental term doesn't include cross state or cross provience.
Unless it has changed from May when I got my last rental.

I rented a car via priceline from Calgary and drive to Banff and Jasper and returned to Calgary.

Going 5 days and spend 2 days on the road, that's one tough trip.  I hope you have >1 drivers.

When I was renting a car in Vegas, the agreement only say that I cannot go to Canada.

each rental location has different rule and policy. This is what I found from Budget on W Hastings via priceline:

Miscellaneous

CROSS BORDER TRAFFIC VEHICLES ARE PERMITTED FOR TRAVEL WITHIN BRITISH COLUMBIA ONLY, UNLESS OTHERWISE AUTHORIZED BY BUDGET. . TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA WILL BE SUBJECT TO A DAILY OUT OF AREA CHARGE.

i checked that avis and hertz don't have this policy. But it doesn't hurt to ask... And if you bid from priceline, you can't really choose which company to rent from... so you may end up with one that has the special policy.
