Has anyone done a destination wedding here before? Can you share your experience?

What are the places? (Hawaii, Cruise, Okanagan)
Did you invite your immediate family or just the new couple alone?
Is there a package? It might be hard to arrange minister etc in a foreign place?

Please share. ^^ I am considering this option for myself. =)

I haven't planned anything yet.

Hawaii or Cruise might be nice. Thinking to only invite immediately family. Take it as a vacation with them, which is nice. But I'm not sure where the planning begins.

I read online that on a Cruise, holding the wedding at a port might be risky as sometimes the Cruise will skip a port.

So much to think about!

many people like to go to Cancun too~~ hotels have all kind of wedding packages...

Cruise could be a great idea cuz only your immediate family involved, possibly not too many people. Yes, sometimes they'll skip any port without too much notice in advance, also due to weather or emergency, if you plan to have the ceremony on land, kind of risky. I think almost all cruise ships have "wedding chapel" facilities, you just need to book them at time of booking the trip. And since there's a night requests everyone on board to be formally dressed, it's a convenience for you to hold the ceremony that day/night too. ^^

I think Hawaii is definitely better than cruise.  My best friend had her wedding in Maui.  It was fantastic.  The hotel have a wedding planner for her, and she basically arranged everything for her.  She just need to bring her dress, her shoes, her wedding favor, and off she goes.  They have photographer, videographer, makeup artist, flowers, decorations etc all ready for her!  And all her pictures turn out very beautiful, and the wedding was just awesome!

cremedelacreme, do you know how much your friend's wedding is around? It sounds very expensive if you use those "one stop" wedding planner.
