Working under Micromanagement Working

有無人試過番工要寫低你當日做過D咩來? 如果係 on probation or 曾經收過 warning letter 都可以理解。但係搞到個個都要做﹐就點都講唔通﹐特別係忙既時候只會 lower efficiency。

Management 仲想 break time 唔計番錢比人﹐come on﹐咁大間公司都要諗埋D宿數﹐不如諗下點樣增加營業額好過啦。唔通 inspired by "大X樂" in HK?

大家有無試過 working under micromanagement 呢? Do u like it or think it's such a stupid idea? I think they should really focus on operation (better customer service), sales, not micromanage every little things that employees do for the company.

I had similar experience but not to your extreme (daily report etc)

From what I recall, this micro manager always wants to prove results and improvements so he/she comes down hard on the associates and makes you really busy. While he has no brilliant idea or vision on his own, he/she loves to steal some of your idea (from your daily report).

All in all, this type of person often pretends to be busy as well and bs all the way through for "his" concrete and measurable results.

Actually my case is very extreme. We actually need to write down the time of the task completed. Luckily, pay by piecemeal is illegal in Canada.

Since 2 stupid rules are implemented, we work more and get paid less, everyone get pissed off and unhappy. I don't see any reason why a big company would try to save $20/day to make its employees unhappy. To me, the idea is simple, happy employees make happy customers, right?

is your company trying to reduce the number of staff?  determined by how much work everyone does in a day?

I think they are trying to cut everyone's hours to save money. It's definitely a tradeoff between number of staffs and customer service though. Making customers wait and unhappy staffs (because of more work + less pay) are not the way to do business.

I think it's common to write down time spend on each project for each day. You can think of it as micromanagement; however, it's also for accounting purpose. Calculating time spend on each project for each employee...that gives the cost of a project.

Accountants and lawyers has been doing that for a long time.  That's for billing clients ma.  

But other than billing, it means you have a  stupid and mean boss.  These people are under the gun from higher management and trying to put the blame on the staff.  Usually they have huge personal and work issue and character fault.  Not worth dealing with them.

Keep your eyes open and move on.
