Heavy rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver
Things will dry out by Wednesday morning

Be the first to Comment 2 Recommendation(s) VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - There is a heavy rainfall warning in effect for all of Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals over the next 24 hours will be about 30 millimetres by the water's edge and close to the border, but up to 60 millimetres or more for areas closer to the North Shore Mountains.
The freezing level will be soaring as the air mass warms up, so precipitation will fall as rain and not snow on all the local ski hills.
The rain won't come down in a continuous stream, but rather in pulses. News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate expects it to stop and restart a couple of times throughout the day. But with heavy downpours coming ashore periodically, rainfall amounts are expected to exceed warning criteria for the next day or two.
Remember to sign up for Russ Lacate's escalating weather guarantee. If he misses the guaranteed high you can win big bucks!
