Vancouver Police are investigating gunfire in a west side neighbourhood

Be the first to Comment 0 Recommendation(s) VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - People who live in the area around Oak Street and West 23rd Avenue first heard shots just after two o'clock Sunday morning. One man who lives in the neighbourhood tells News1130 he heard almost a dozen shots and then screaming. Some witnesses say they saw two cars speed down Oak Street after the shooting.
Vancouver Police have confirmed they've blocked off the area around Oak and West 23rd and expect to be there throughout the morning. Several people have been taken to hospital with gunshot wounds, although it's not clear how seriously they're injured.
Witnesses have been taken to police headquarters for questioning. Police are expected to release more information later today.
