Has anyone bought something online at BS or FS and then picked up at the store? Sometimes they give you a good deal if you buy something this way.

i've bought stuff online at future shop, and picked it up in store about 2 weeks ago.

when you select that item that you want from the web, it's like having them to put it on hold for you. they still take your credit card info and billing etc but they are not charging you at that point. and when you're in the store, the staff will bring the item out from the back office or storage area and then you pay. and they will charge you when you are in store.

but the item that you select online must be available in the same store for you pick up. for example, i want to buy something and to be pick up in the richmond store. but the richmond store don't have it in stock. and only the burnaby store has it. so you can NOT choose "store pick up in richmond". you can choose "store pick up in burnaby".

the problem is if it's a hot item with limited quantity, you might not be able to get it. It is because the store usually gives online orders the lowest priority, lots of time they will sell them to in-store customers and cancel your order.

Also, although there looks like a online order pick up "express" line in the CS counter, but i think most CSR ignores it. I have once waited 20min in the regular CS line just to pick up my order that had not even been charged to my card. I could have just pick it up from the shelf and pay at the till in 5 minute of time.

so yeah... i have tried it the few times, only when i have coupons that can be only applied online, like those 10 off $150 online only coupons. Otherwise, if i see hot items online, i will just pay the shipping; if i wanna get regular stuff, i will just walk in and buy it.
