Amara Wedding's Japanese Makeup & Hairstylist, Miyuki Mori, has done a demo with us to show what's in style!

ELEGANT & CUTE
This might raise a question. Can elegant look be cute?? Japanese always creates unique wordings like this in their fashion magazines and they DO make sense. Let's see how Miyuki can create an elegant bridal look with an accent of cuteness, and then change it into an evening stylish look.

Ceremony Style: Elegant + Cute

Miyuki added essence of youth and cuteness to elegant classic updo by making a soft side swept bang with a voluminous curl.
Miyuki said, "I would make the back less detailed swirls and keep it simple if a bride wants to be more elegant. This updo I am doing is more on the cute side, with more curls and you can see more details at back."

Brides can also use different hairpieces like a pure white bow (1), crystal hairband (2) or a small crystal hair comb as tiara (3) to create different styles during the portrait session after ceremony is done.

"The theme color I used is rose pink, a very popular color to be used for Japanese brides. In Japanese makeup, we use less eye color and blush, color focus is on the lips for an elegant & pure look. I want people to pay attention to the bride's big and bright eyes instead of just the eye shadow." Miyuki explains.

Skin is the most important thing when it comes to makeup, especially for Asian brides. Beautiful looking skin should be look moisturized, transparent and even, with a natural glow. In Japanese we say ツヤ肌 (tsuya hada), 潤肌 (uru hada) or もも肌 (momo hada), you can easily spot these terms on any Japanese skin products.

For eyes, Miyuki used colorless shimmer cream eye shadow and brown eye liner gradated with purple eye color instead of the commonly used black eyeliner.

Evening Style: Elegant + Stylish

For the evening look, Miyuki created a more stylish updo with a feather fascinator, "I wanted to create a totally different image for a bride in the evening, although both are updos, the ceremony look is more feminine and this one is more chic & stylish. I have used orange color blush to create an evening style during reception."
