Here's a responsible article we'd like to share with you. The company Real Salt  says it's been getting a lot of inquiries about whether the iodine in their salt would help in the event of exposure to nuclear radiation. It's a question spurred by the events in Japan following the massive earthquake of last week, and the resulting problems in the nuclear plant at Fukushima.

The answer is no--the trace amount of iodine in Real Salt, or even table salt, would not be considered a preventative measure to prevent the absorption of harmful radiation. This article from Real Salt explains more, and gives some helpful tips as well. Find it by clicking here.

even if it does, how much do you need?  if you don't know the dosage the salt will kill your kidney before the radiation does.

And yet the ignorance isn't just limited to China -- HK is also seeing a whole bunch of idiots buying up salt.

Another sad sign of the deteriorating quality of the general populace in HK...
