"Steven Spielberg has decided not to participate in this summer's Beijing Olympic Games as an artistic adviser, citing China's lack of progress in resolving the humanitarian crisis in Darfur." from http://www.variety.com/VR1117980808.html

This move upsets many people in China.  I'm not too sure what's going on here.  In short, I can understand that Steven did it for the sake of humanities, does it have to involve Olympics game making it all political?  

I also wonder, has China really done nothing about Darfur crisis?

Because the Beijing mayor make the Olympic game political when China applied for the game.

China did something about Darfur crisis.  They don't let UN send troops to stop the crisis.
