VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The Vancouver Canucks have traded forward Matt Cooke to the Washington Capitals for forward Matt Pettinger. Cooke has spent his entire career with the Canucks, drafted 144th overall in the 1997 NHL entry draft.

Cooke has 7 goals and 9 assists in 61 games this season. Pettinger, who played his Junior A hockey in Victoria, has 7 points in 56 games with the Capitals this season.

With the 12 Noon PST deadline reached, it appears that is the only move the Canucks have made as they head into the final weeks of the NHL regular season.

good trade??? hard to say... Cooke can get a lot of momentum going when he go after the opposite team's players... personally I think Cooke should stay...
