Shopping:  Bellevue or DT Seattle.  Won't be cheaper than outlet, but still cheaper than vancouver.

Go OpenTable and look at their Diner's Choice Winners list for the Seattle area.

We went for Crush last time and it was fairly interesting. Foie Gras was awesome there. A little too creative on some of the sauces tho.

shopping-wise, definately Bellevue!!! LV, Tiffany, Nordstrom. Also have your regulars A&F, etc. Across the street is Neiman Marcus. Pretty much have everything, high end and low end. Hard to beat.
