When I speak to Chinese people then I speak Cantonese or Mandarin lor...but when there are "english people" around ...I'll switch back to talk in English...It's not polite if I speak language that other people don't understand. But if there is no other ppl around...I guess it's ok...

for business talk, always English even with Chinese speaking coworkers... only speak other languages for fun (I indirectly work for the gov't  plus I have a Ling degree, people (many of my "coworkers" are multilingual) love speaking different languages for fun.)   So we never hide that fact that we speak other languages but when it comes to work, always communicate in English.
