0 LIONS BAY (NEWS1130) - A missing 18 year old hiker has been found safe after spending the night alone on a trail near Howe Sound.
The woman spent the night alone after getting separated from her partner around sunset.
Sandro Frei with Lions Bay Search and Rescue says they found her on a trail around 6 am. "There seems to be no reason to take her to the hospital. She's with a trained first aid attendant, who has given her a cursory medical evaluation and says she's in fine shape."
Frei says she left her cell phone with a friend, so getting to her was a bit of a challenge. "If she'd had it in her pocket it probably would have helped us quite a bit. But we still ended up getting to her fairly quickly."
He is reminding anyone heading outdoors to carry a cell phone. |
