VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The BC Lions are set to host Calgary in their home opener at Empire Field tonight.
Fans can expect some changes, including flat rate parking.
Laura Ballance with the PNE says it's a little cheaper than last year's tiered system. "A $20 flat rate, including tax, at all the PNE lots."
She says they've worked with TransLink to boost service on home game nights in an effort to make things easier for fans.
She says smokers should be taking note. "We started during the Whitecaps games with zero smoking in the venue, and it was very, very positively received. So we're anticipating a similar response from Lions fans."
News1130 Sports Director Ann Schmaltz says even though it's only week two of the season, this is pretty much a must win game for both teams, especially after the Lions loss last week in Montreal. "They want to send the message that playing at Empire Field this season will be a tough environment for any opponent. The [Calgary] Stampeders are also looking for their first win, so it should make for a fantastic West Division battle."
She says it's great to have the team back at Empire, because it's such an intimate experience for fans.
Kick off is at 7:30 pm. |
