VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - For the first time in a few years organizers of the Celebration of Light aren't worried about funding shortfalls.  And this summer, they may even turn a small profit.  It might not be much, but it would be more than what has been seen over the last few years.

The company in charge of the event, brand.LIVE, is helped by the fact that there will only be three nights of fireworks over English Bay.  The other factor is the fact that some corporate sponsors have stepped up.

According to the Globe and Mail, bleacher seats are also expected to bring in extra cash.  There are 750 seats up for grabs and tickets are going for $40 each.

Over the last couple of years, organizers had a shortfall between $350,000 and $400,000 and nearly cancelled this year's show.

China will be the first country to light up the sky this Saturday, followed by Spain on August 3rd and Canada wraps things up on August 6th.

This year's theme is "Battle of the Champions."
