NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Two young hikers have been rescued after getting lost on the North Shore just before midnight. The two got stranded between Grouse Mountain and Lynn Headwaters Park.
Tim Jones with North Shore Rescue says Mounties spotted the two young men using the RCMP Air One chopper. "They [searchers] were using night-vision goggles and were able to fly this valley and on the second pass they spotted them."
"We don't know the exact circumstances as to why they are where they are. It's most likely they turned around and tried to head back because there's a lot of snow in the path that gets up to Grouse," he adds.
The hikers, both in their 20s, will be fine. "They're in good shape. Our field team is with them." |
