SPARWOOD (NEWS1130) - The people of Sparwood are rallying together to support the Hebert family as they continue to search for little Kienan, who disappeared Tuesday night.

About 150 people gathered to for a candlelight vigil last night in the community.

"You know, we're all trying to stay positive. We all have to believe he's coming home," says Mary Gerscht, who attended the vigil after a long day of searching and before working an overnight shift at a local hotel.

"We said a prayer, we had a moment of silence, and we just gathered and talked with each other, shared our feelings and let the Heberts know that  we are praying very hard."

Today, most of Sparwood will take part in -- or help support -- a third day of searching for little Kienan. It's another day of hope the missing three year old will be found.

"Definitely, we are going to find him," says Gerscht, her voice cracking with emotion. "In our coffee shops and on our street corners, we are all acknowledging that we need to find him."

Kienan's dad Paul says he's ``100 per cent optimistic'' his son will be found safe and return home, adding the family's Baptist faith is helping them get through this tough time.

Kienan was last seen in his home when his family put him to bed Tuesday night. The following morning, he was gone. The boy has red hair and was wearing "Scooby Doo" boxer shorts.

An Amber Alert has been extended for Kienan, who police say may be with 46-year-old Randall Hopley, who could be driving a brown 1987 Toyota Camry, BC license plate 098-RAL.

Hopley was convicted of sexual assault in the 1980s. Police say Hopley doesn't know Kienan, but won't say why they believe the three-year-old might be with him. Click here for the full details of this Amber Alert
