Freak Event - Being assaulted by my co-worker

I was assaulted by my co-worker when I was getting off from work...

The whole thing started with a small argument (At least I think it is...)
Before lunch time, I was organizing some files and I gave a few to them to this guy and told him to fax it for me. He was reluctant and told me that I didn't cross out certain information on the document, so I just told him to do it since he has them in his hands...He ended up throwing the files back on my desktop and started mumbling so I was like "What're you doing?" and he just kept on mumbling...so I was like "whatever, I'll do it myself"...

Nothing happened until I was getting off from work...

I was saying good bye to my boss and walked down the stairs with another co-worker...The guy was standing by the door, keeping it open with his back...So I just thought he was keeping it open for the girl that I was walking down with...and I only thought that he might close the door on me once the girl walks out so that I'll have to open it myself (as a way to show me he does not like me....) but NOOOOOOO~ while i was walking out...he grabbed my shirt (around my neck) and then gave me a headlock...I was holding a bunch of text books at the time and so it wasn't the best scenario to fight back...I decided to relax my body...and hey...it doesn't feel bad at all...Anyways...the guy started yelling at me "How dare you speak to me like that? How dare you use that tone! How dare you!? I'll punch you! I'll punch you!!" (In Chinese) I saw his fist and it was shaking soooo much...I didn't want to yell for my boss at the time because he was having a guest over, and that would certainly embarrass him, so I was like...fine...the worst is getting punched...no biggie...He didn't though...He released me and started threatening me next time I talk to him with an attitude he'll beat me up...So I just told him to do so and I'll of course call the cops on him and he said "Yeah, you do that!" and he jumped on his car and left...

Well I didn't thought it was a big problem at the time but then on my way home, I realized that my neck was bleeding...

Now most of you would ask me...Why didn't I fight back when he released me?
At that time, it wasn't the best place to fight cuz there was a girl beside us and the space between the staircase and the door was really small...So I just kinda let it be...2nd, fighting back and beat the **** outta this guy is only going to satisfy me momentarily and cause him to be in pain for a certain amount of time only...That's not enough...I wanna get back at him with a BAM! From what I know, this guy is still waiting for his citizenship, so I'm gonna take it away from him...Tomorrow I'm gonna file with the RCMP regarding an assault by him...He's getting ****ed in the ass for sure...Assaulting someone when you are applying citizenship is not exactly the smartest thing to do...

I wanna teach this guy a lesson...I don't want to let him off the hook that easily, I want him to regret this for the rest of his life...I want him to know that messing with me caused him his citizenship and future in Canada. The worst scenario is that he might get deported back to China, I would love to see that!

It's a small scratch, but it actually bled for a while...It actually looks worse right now because the scratch got swollen and ****...Still enough to file for assault, plus I got a witness...

I think you should...

1) definitely tell your boss that he threated you at work
2) file the assault and 落口供 at the police, as well as get a witness report

this guy managed to get so worked up and get physical with out over a little issue...makes me worry what he is capable of if you anger him again at work or if you end up succeeding over him...

the truth is, he attacked you physically....and then threatened you verbally...even if it's just a little scratch, it is too dangerous to not let your boss know and also the police know.

also, it's probably best not to confront the guy and tell him that you told the boss and the police
let the police and your boss deal with him..

does someone you know (like a friend) count as a witness?
for traffic accidents, they don't count since they say your friends could lie to help you... but i dunno for actual crimes... they could say the same thing, but then anyone could lie if that's the case.

actually..    I think you should give him a chance ..    It is probably very hard for him to get from china to canada.. and the canadian citizenship is probably very important for him and his family.
Maybe he was just having so much pressure adapting to the new environment (new to vancouver)?
how old is he ?..  maybe he was a boss back in China, and now you tell him to do stuff, he just couldn't accept that at the moment...?
He headlocked you, but he didn't beat you up.. he wasn't using a gun or a knife...  i think this problem can be solved verbally between you and him..  just sit down and talk first...   if that doesn't solve the problem....  then seek help from RCMP..

honestly.. I think you are more dangerous than him..
