DELTA (NEWS1130) - One person has been rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital after a shooting around 12:30 a.m. in Delta.  Heavily armed police have cordoned off an area near 116th Avenue and 87A Street.

A police helicopter circled low over the neighbourhood searching for suspects.  There has been no word on the condition of the person who was shot and no arrests have been made.

Meantime, a pedestrian has been killed in Abbotsford.

Police shutdown a portion of South Parallel Road near Highway 1 at 8:30 p.m. Friday near Cole Road.  Police have not released any other details about the victim.
