卑詩麻醉師協會（BC Anesthesiologists' Society）周二發表聲明，再次威脅如果仍未獲得安排參加合約談判，他們將會由下個月開始正式採取工業行動，中止提供非緊急手術服務。
全省480個麻醉師正希望與省府直接談判收費問題，而非通過原本代表他們的卑詩醫學會（BC Medical Association）。
衛生廳長：年薪34萬已很好
這也是上述協會繼去年12月中旬後，第二度發出的「最後通牒」。他們揚言會由4月1日起，暫停所有非緊急手術服務。
麻醉師協會會長雷恩斯（Jeff Rains）表明，他們堅持爭取改善被他指為失效的醫療制度。協會關注的問題包括﹕薪酬、人手短缺、輪候時間及病人安全等。
對於麻醉師再發罷工威脅聲明，省衛生廳長麥德莊（Mike de Jong）指責他們做法「有欠專業」和「無道德」。如果他們真的這樣做，數以千計的手術將會受到影響。同時，他相信提出罷工威脅的僅屬小撮人士，不代表全省麻醉師的立場。
麥德莊又指出，現時省內麻醉師的平均年薪達34萬元，待遇已十分優厚。

If you have bargaining power, feel free to strike. As I said, jobs like this are so unique and in demand, you just cannot determine what's a fair price for them. Compared to fxxking CEOs making billions, $340K a year is VERY LOW.
