i've been to portland last year...
it was such a boring town...its so dead...and the clubs are ghetto...haha but its al in chinatown...which makes chinatown hip
in terms of prices of shopping...yea its tax free...but not very cheap
and try stay over 48 hours...so u get $400 tax bracket
there's a chinese garden in downtown, pioneer square for shopping, nike outlet, and Saturday market, then pretty much it...
1000km drove back and forth.... almost 3 tank of gas back and forth by a mazda 3....
I went to Portland in 2006. Went to the Japanese Garden, Rose Garden and Pearl District for dinner. I missed their Sat market because I arrived late Sat afternoon. I would love to spend more time in Powell's bookstore but I was there only for an hour. The rest of the trip is about driving along the oregon coast from canon beach down to Tillamook cheese (personally didn't like their cheese). Not a bad trip overall. I didn't do much shopping except at Powell's.
