Dentist Pricing

I was wondering if most dentists follow a scheme/standard in how much they charge for certain procedures.  e.g. How much they charge for regular cleaning, say 4 units with flouride treatment and no x-ray.  Will their prices vary quite a bit?  How about the price for children and adult, any difference?

there is a fee guide from BC dental association that dentists can/should follow (of course we regular people dont have access to it)

for GP i think the price for children and adult is the same...but for pedodontists (dental specialists specialized in children)...the fee will be higher because they use a specialist fee guide...

Man ..  why dont you ask me again?  lol

Just hv my crown done again ..   $13xx ..  ( can't remember )

There is a guide to follow, but every dentist charge more ..   ( say if the guide allow $150 for filling, they may charge 200 ) so your insurance can never cover you all ..

WOW...the guide is $270????

What a rip off...is that how they (dentists) want to "protect" themselves?

Your insurance company will tell you the price from the guide la..

Dentist ..  they dont really need to protect themself ..

I worked in a dental clinic and you can find those fee guides from public library, but it would not be the current one, only the previous years one.
